A warm welcome awaits you at our clubs. Sometimes it's extremely difficult to make that first step to come to something new. Those attending our clubs have made that first step, so they know how you feel. The Clubs are for men and women aged 65 and over.

Lunch and Activities & Reminisce Club (Wallsend)

We meet on a Tuesday at Trinity Methodist Church hall, Station Road, Wallsend NE28 8SA and we are there from 11-2.30. Members come along any time between 11 and 12 for a cup of tea and informal chat, or a maybe game of dominoes or scrabble.

At 12 we have a 2 course home cooked lunch. Most people then stay for our afternoon activities which include entertainers, quizzes, armchair exercises and much more! We finish with an optional game of bingo most weeks and club finishes at 2.30.

Activities & Reminisce Club (Heaton)

We meet on a Tuesday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.  We are based in Heaton Methodist Church, 7 Simonside Terrace, Heaton, Newcastle upon Tyne NE6 5JX.  

There is a varied programme of arts & crafts / entertainment / information sessions / reminiscing / speakers / quizzes.

I am daunted at the prospect of coming on my own - can someone come with me for the first time?

Yes, we understand what a huge step this is for some and on this first occasion you are welcome to bring someone to accompany you regardless of age. If you decide to attend one of our Clubs a member of our staff will be there to welcome you on your first day.

Do I have to be a Church Member to attend?

No, we welcome everyone aged 65 and over.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, provided they are aged 65 and over.

Is there transport?

There is no transport, members have to find their own way to and from the Clubs. Some members who live close to each other travel together by taxi or by bus.

How do I join a Club?

If you would like to join a Club please call in at the Club you are interested in attending. Contact Diane, Club Co-ordinator Wallsend or Barbara, Club Co-ordinator Heaton.

There are certain things I'm unable to have in my diet, will you be able to cater for this?

We consult with our members and ensure that our cooks are aware and take members dietary requirements into consideration.
